SUMMER BAND REHEARSALS THIS WEEK
- 7am-4pm all week (arrive between 6:30-6:45am)
- COLOR GUARD HAS A DIFFERENT SCHEDULE (Mr. Singletary will communicate)
- 7am-11am is all outdoors (for most everyone); 12pm-4pm is all indoors
- 11am lunch (students can go off campus)
- We will start in the track stadium at 7:00am
- Have the following at the track
- Instrument (tubas need to get sousaphones)
- Percussion start on the field; Mr. Locke will have instructions for you
- Water
- Sunglasses
- Sunscreen
- Flip Folder
- Music
- You can leave double reed instruments and lunches in the band hall before heading to the field
- Have your ID to scan-in for attendance
- Fun Events (not required but encouraged)
- Tues, Aug 30 – Sock Hop (PAC Commons)
- Thurs, Aug 1 – Kick Ball (Kickscaball) Tournament
ESCADRILLE FAN FEST @ WATTERS CREEK (FRI, AUG 2)
This event is required. Attire for students: Dryfit Allen Escadrille T-Shirt, khaki shorts, athletic shoes. Color guard attire assigned by Mr. Singletary. Students may be picked up at Watters Creek with the following: (1) Alternate Means for Travel Document turned in by Friday morning- found on Pg 23 of the Band Handbook, (2) Sign out with parent at the buses (by Fish City Grill/Snappy Salads).
- 6:00pm Meet on Track after scanning in
- 6:10pm Load Buses/leave
- 6:35pm Arrive Watters Creek; parade block to Market Street garage
- 7:00pm Performance on the Green
- 7:45pm Load Buses/Leave
- 8:00pm Arrive AHS
If you are planning on going to Watters Creek, parking will be a challenge. The One Bethany East and Net Scout garages will be available (and free) in addition to the Waters Creek garages. Note that the hotel garage is paid parking (and expensive). Start now on dinner reservations before/after the performance as it is Friday evening. Frios, Village Burger, and Menchies have deals on products/meals on Friday.
ATHLETIC TRYOUT CONFLICTS
Please fill out the excused absence request so we know where you are. Please come to rehearsal or leave rehearsal as needed. If you do not fill out the form, you will not have an excused absence. Please communicate; the forms are on www.allenband.com.
ALTERNATIVE REGISTRATION (WED. JULY 31, 4:30-6:30)
Missed registration on Saturday? Our alternative registration date is this Wednesday, July 31st from 4:30pm-6:30pm after rehearsal gets out. Registration will be held in the AHS Band Hallway
EAGLES PREPARE TO SOAR INFORMATION FOR BAND (10th-12th GRADE)
The official Eagles Prepare to Soar times conflict with summer band rehearsals. Seniors and Juniors in the band will be able to attend an EARLY meeting to pick up permits, etc before the official meetings occur. Sophomores will go at their assigned times on Friday. These are the approved Eagles Prepare to Soar meeting times:
- SENIORS: Wednesday, July 31 from 2pm-3pm (location TBA)
- JUNIORS: Wednesday, July 31 from 3pm-4pm (location TBA)
- SOPHOMORES (regular schedule): A-MOF (8am), MOG-Z (1pm) – Meet in the PAC

The Allen Band Booster Association raises funds for many other band operations as well as a large donation towards Hawaii payments.
