TWIB NOTES: 5/11

REQUIRED CURBSIDE CLOSING PROCEDURES (MAY 19-20)

Look out this week for an e-mail to sign-up for curbside closing procedures. You will be required to bring back your concert uniform, instrument, guard equipment, accessories (mutes), music folders, and pay any financial obligations. Directors will clean out your lockers and bring all items to the curb (based on the assigned locker in Charms). Sign-ups will be in 15-minute periods and should take minutes to complete. Please make sure you are available May 19 or May 20 to close out the year.

  • SCHOOL INSTRUMENTS
    • Seniors/Non-returners will need to bring back school instruments for check-in.
    • Returning students will keep your current instrument, but need to show us your instrument for inventory at the curb. If you have an instrument that needs repair, please drop off, however we will not have a replacement instrument for you at this time. We will not upgrade any instruments until summer band rehearsals. We will have an instrument check-out procedure at another date (by June 1st) for students that had broken instruments or for incoming 8th grade students.
  • SCHEDULE
    • May 19: 9am-11:30am (Seniors only), 12:15pm-4:30pm
    • May 20: 8:15am-12pm, 12:45pm-4:30pm
    • Sign-ups will be available this week – watch your e-mail.

AT-HOME LEARNING

The last two weeks of At-Home learning will be posted on Monday, 5/11 at 8am. You are encouraged to complete BOTH weeks of assignments THIS week. The last week’s assignment is only a 4 question quiz. The quiz is not “graded” based on the points, but will assigned a rubric score.

FALL 2020 ENSEMBLE ASSIGNMENTS & SLT LIST

The directors have gone through all audition materials and are close to finalizing ensemble placements. These will be e-mailed out by Tuesday afternoon. Three notes:

  • Wind Ensemble rosters will be e-mailed on Sunday to it’s members (soon after the TWIB Notes).
  • Some students will need to readjust their schedules. There is movement between all 1st, 2nd, 5th, and 8th period classes. If you were assigned a class period during Arena scheduling, there may be an adjustment based on your audition results; this is includes 2nd/5th period classes. Guidance counselors are making adjustments this week. Remember, your Arena schedule band class period was based on your current class period and would be adjusted after auditions were processed.
  • See attached poster for our complete SLT list. Congratulations to all students that participated in the process as everyone was well prepared. Dr. Obado will communicate with you this week regarding leadership training.
