Letter From The EBA Presidents

Hello students, parents, and staff,

Can you feel it yet? The temperatures are high, football magazines are on the racks, the directors are putting the finishing touches on another great marching show, and the announcing drum roll prior to the big blast of Escadrille activity has begun. It’s time for another fun and rewarding year for the Allen Eagle Escadrille, and this one’s going to be very, Very, VERY special!

They’re all special you say? That’s true, but this is the year the largest band in the world packs up its show and represents the great state of Texas in the biggest parade in the world, the Tournament of Roses Parade. Between now and New Year’s there will be a lot of music, marching, and mayhem as we enjoy another year helping the “Best Band in the Land” represent Allen in the great tradition of Friday Night Lights in Texas.

Yes, even though they’re all special, this one’s going to be VERY SPECIAL! So buckle up! – ‘cause the roller coaster’s about to take the first big drop!

Big Reminders
Yes, there are less than 3 weeks until the Escadrille begins marching and the old saying that “Dates on calendars are closer than they appear” was never more true. There are several big dates coming up and WE NEED ALL PARENTS TO HELP!!

If you can help or be involved on any of these days with any of these events, please contact anyone on the board and we’ll help you get plugged in! Remember that you must submit an application each year for a volunteer background check. This is a requirement of the AISD and is for our student’s safety, so please go HERE and submit your background check request online. You’ll be set to go in about a week!

Also, one very important item coming up is the $400 payment for the rose bowl trip for each student that is going. That payment is due on registration day, so bring your check book with you on Saturday the 30th – and as long as you’re writing a check, be prepared to pick up some Tournament of Roses Escadrille spirit items. This is a special year and we’ve made some unique, one of a kind items to enable us to show our spirit.

  • July 23rd – Sonic Escadrille Day – Need Students and Parents to work at one of 12 Sonics
  • July 28th – Freshman marching day Students can purchase the first and perhaps only official Escadrille ball cap they can wear in the stands – The ToR Escadrille ball cap. The cost will be $10 and when they’re gone, THEY’RE GONE.
  • July 29th – Full Escadrille (official cap available during a portion of the day)
  • July 30th – Band Registration – Need Parents to help with registration Bring your checkbook, $400 for the trip will be due.
  • August 6th – Parent Night – A great night to see what our students are doing!
  • August 13th – Car Wash
  • August 20th – Marchathon – This is the big Fund Raiser
  • August 27th – First game at SMU Stadium – “Let’s get ready to Rumble”

Wow! That’s not even the full list of all the activities between now and September. Please see the Escadrille Calendar HERE for a complete list and plan on participating.

The Escadrille booster association is here to help make the Escadrille a great experience for our kids and it only works when everyone pitches in. On that note let me say THANK YOU in advance to everyone who is going to be a part of this magical year. Our students really appreciate everything that everyone does, from helping in the Pit Bulls to working a fund raiser to chaperoning a bus on Friday nights. It’s all important and it’s all appreciated.

Before ending this short pre-season note, I’d like to remind you once again of 3 very important items:

1. Band Registration day – Come prepared to make the next payment on the TOR trip and please plan to purchase some spirit items. We will have special pricing on registration day and these items will go fast.

2. Please submit your volunteer background check HERE

3. If you can help with any of our upcoming events (Sonic day, registration, etc) please contact our volunteer coordinators Don Howard, Denise Sherwood ASAP. If you can’t reach them then contact any board member and we’ll gladly help get you involved.

Thanks again and let’s have a great year!

For the Escadrille Booster Association,

Pat and Virginia Smith
co-President
